I should clarify. Last Wednesday I was invited by my co-worker Jeri to Seidl's Bar, where I was to meet her 21-year-old hot-blooded granddaughter (a barrel-racer, too). Well, not only was the granddaughter amazing, her 40-something mother (Jeri's daughter) was fine, also. So my eyes were feeling relaxed and happy, in spite of the cigarette smoke. But one of the beauties was married, and the other too young. So I drank too much. And later puked into a bowl.

On Friday I partied at the Buckskin with four of the hottest babes in Dunn County: Margi, Laci, Kelli, and Jolene. More eye-candy. More drunken revelry. I even witnessed some "Girls Gone Wild" action. Fun! But . . . at the end of the night, 'twas just me.

So what I'm trying to say is: this region has the goods, but the goods I've met aren't quite available enough to break my heart. 'Cause heartbreak is what a poet needs to break out. And as Kurtis Blow would say, "that's the breaks."

That in itself is heartbreak. "They're either too young or too old. They're either too shy or too bold." I can't remember the singer, only the melody... maybe Jimmy Durante. While the solitude is golden the loneliness is daunting. A Sandman in his own desert.

Did you know that Thoreau did not live in solitude at Walden? That he took weekly visits home? That vistors came from near and far, according to one source hardly a day passed without the little cabin being filled to capacity with family and friends.

So maybe you should take a road trip. You could come out in July for the Southside Social at our place. Or perhaps encourage others to visit you. Maybe have a MuseFest... Invite 10-100 of your female lovers, friends, fans to gather at your home for a week of inspired bliss. Promise to write song after song, and dedicate the next album to them. xxx, Chickadee

Sounds untenable. North Dakota has a different vibe then the west coast. I'm looking for a North Dakota girlfriend who'll farm and ranch with me, or at least be open to the possibility.
