My journal has not been cooperating this last week. It won't let me post my new entries. This is a test.

Hello Songbae, Noriko, Keely, Ralph, etc. who I emailed today! If you are looking for info on my new CD on this website, well, er, I haven't had a chance to post it yet. However, I do have the new CDs in my paws and I'm quite proud of them; so put this site in your favorites and check back in a few days-- it should look different. You can, however, listen to a couple of the songs that are on it: "Radio Works Fine" and "Imaginary World".

To everyone else, standby for the poker report; I won $7.50 last night to bring January's winnings up to $38.50!! I'm on a roll and it feels good. Tonight I might go watch the movie Frida.

Well, I won $8 more last night. Now I'm up $31 for the new year! Too bad my conjunctivitis is costing me an arm and a leg. Today I went to an eye-doctor who gave me some heavy-duty steroid drops. I have to return in a week to find out if some sort of glaucoma pressure needs to be relieved. It's no good to be stingy with one's health, I suppose, but damnnnnn... At least you won't have to be hearing about my stupid pink eyeball for much longer-- I hope.

The truth of the matter is that I've actually reached a point where my financial ruin is kind of exciting to witness. (I just got approved for another $5000-limit credit card and I will spend it.) I'm not worried.

Howdy people: Kirb, Nima, Shoan, Yuko, Mom... how ya doin'? Anyone else? CIA Agent Schmidt? Glad to have you aboard.

HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR DAY!!!

Now here's the news from soggy Olympia-- I won $6 in poker last night. I got four queens in one hand!! The ladies were kind. My pink eye hasn't healed, though, so I went to the doctor again (ouch-- I need insurance perhaps?) and this time I got a $98 subscription of optical cortisone. I'll only need 4 drops. Well I'll let my eye die for that much. Next time you see me I may have a cat's-eye marble super-glued into my right eye-socket... Totally kidding. Now I must continue with tour duties. It's coming too fast; but on the bright side, so is Spring!

Last night the two full-moon shows went well. The first one was the most fun because there were a lot of children-- we advertised that kids get in free. We had snacks and people had a great time. Elizabeth told stories and I played songs. Sometimes I'd play guitar while she talked and other times she'd sing along to my songs... actually the whole audience sang along. Playing my song about Martin Luther King was powerful-- especially being it's his birthday week and with the looming war, etc. The first verse goes: "Martin Luther King was a friend to the poor/ Martin Luther King was opposed to the war/ Martin Luther King was a king and so much more/ He was a patriot".

The second show was much different. It was for my friend Johnny's birthday. I played a lot more of my rockin' and hip hop sex songs. At both I sold shirts and CDs! I made about $90. Today I will work on the tour some more.

Hi Kirby! Thanks for letting me know that you, too, check my journal often. I am working hard at updating a lot of the photos to make the site more interesting since you're probably getting bored of the same old thing everyday.

Everyone else, I won $4 more in poker last night! That's $20 in two days. Tonight I'll be playing two shows. One with the storyteller Elizabeth Lord and one at a birthday party for my pal Johnny Nason. Setting up this tour is proving to be extremely difficult as I am so busy with working odd jobs, house chores, CD business, injury recovery, and food. I wish sleep wasn't a necessity. I could cut out poker, but on second thought... nah. I will however make this tour work for me even if I have to hitch-hike, (and that just may happen due to car troubles). Ida Blue will only be playing the first week with me so perhaps I can team up with someone else who has a good car. Maybe a film-maker and we can make a documentary about modern-wandering-minstrel-rapping-cowhands like myself who are struggling to become wealthy business owners.

Hi Damian and Nima! I know that you two check this thing more than most so I'll address it to you today. (If someone else reads this today or before I write a new one, let me know. I'm curious if more than a couple people check it out daily).

Tonight I won $16 at David's poker table. I took $10 of Pete Chramiec's and $6 of David's. This is the first time in weeks that I've actually won anything. I've probably lost close to $100 in the last couple months and it was pissing me off. I punched a few walls and cursed God's name more than once during that time. Well tonight, right off the bat I lost $7 and at one point screamed so loud that I think I even scared David. He told me to pipe down or I'd wake the building up. Somehow this ejaculation was cathartic, though, and I started winning everything. In the last 20 minutes I cranked up the heat and secured $23 to bring my total to an even $4-squared. It felt good. Real good. Now I sleep. p.s. my pink-eye remains...

I went to the doctor to treat my pink eye yesterday. I don't have insurance but it turned out to be cheap-- $40! The doctress said it would take 3 days of dropping medicine in my right eye. I bought a pirate patch and wear it everywhere. I might keep it on for a while as it looks rugged and mysterious.

I'm working a lot with K Records since they will be the one's promoting and distributing the new CD. Calvin Johnson gave me a good list of venues I should try to hit on the Spring tour. I'm also working with Shawn Parke to record a political jam I've tentatively titled-- The Senator Strikes Back: (Sand vs. Bush).

I'm back from Oahu! Jen and I had the best time ever and I'd write a lot more, except that I have a date with her in 15 minutes so I must be brief. We stayed with my friend Anne Whitman for the first 4 days and her friend Steve for the last four. My friend Carey drove us around and set us up a great show in Honolulu. We swam with turtles, cliff jumped, whale watched, snorkeled, body surfed and just lounged and got a little bit tan. I also got "pink eye" and tore my right bicep boogie boarding-- it was worth it... The show went well. Carey and Anne both gave Jen and I leis (flower necklaces). We made some good money and fans and I sold 5 shirts!
(To be continued...)
