News: Show tomorrow at Marfa Book Company. 9 p.m.

Rocky, Karen, and I visited Mary Farley and her parrots yesterday. Mary is a bird whisperer. My eyes have been opened to the intelligence of these feathered friends.

I wrestled sportively with goofy Gucci, who reminded me of a small monkey. My thumb bears the scars of his playful beak.

I'm really enjoying these trippy updates. Nice knowing your creativity has no problem getting inspired there. Wow!

Never heard of a bird-whisperer....

Wow, I've heard some amazing tales about parrots, would love to get to play with some!

Did they have big vocabularies and know how to use them?
