"Just as the wave cannot exist for itself, but is ever a part of the heaving surface of the ocean, so must I never live my life for itself, but always in the experience which is going on around me. It is an uncomfortable doctrine which the true ethics whisper into my ear." - Albert Schweitzer

i dreamt about you last night. i was traveling thru your parts and staying with you and your parents. you lived on this cold river and the whole community was really into swimming. i was watching them float by. they would mostly be gliding by under water and i was amazed by how long they could hold their breath. i was trying to get your attention. our schedules kept us from spending time together. i had some scraps of paper in a cupboard with my clothes-- paper i scrounged that had bits of your writing on them. i felt like i had to sneak to read them, that i had done something wrong in gathering them. i was trying to find some clues in the writing about your attention for me.
